New Years Surf Zandvoort
January 8 Soul Surfers Foundationjoined the New Years Surf event in Zandvoort - The Netherlands.
The Event-crew was already present at "De Haven van Zandvoort" at 6am that morning in order to prepare the whole setting. Tents were rigged up, Hot tubs filled and flag poles placed.
 
It all looked great and turned out to be a well organised event.
The weather was amazing for the time of year and in ski-ing outfit, it was quite comfortable to spend the whole day outdoors.

Unfortunately the temperature was not all that great to sell the D-Surf it! T-Shirts, but the girls of the organisation managed to sell quite some lottery tickets to family and friends drinking their hot chocolate in the beach-bar.

Quite some people were made aware of the Foundation and also the Mayor of Zandvoort passed by and left a donation.

All in all; a great day! And herewith another big Thank you!!! to all the volunteers!

Unfortunately no year's salary...
But, loads of input, ideas, contacts and positive energy!!!

Now in search of time to put everything into action.


Soul Surfer Sabine for the second time in the Vodafone World of Difference finals!

Sabine Wensink, founder of Soul Surfers Foundation has made it for the second time to the finals of the Vodafone World of Difference competition to earn a year's salary. With its project D-Surf it! the foundation works on contineous fundraising for its projects and initiatives in both The Netherlands as abroad. With a job application on the 5th of October  for a job at the foundation she once founded, she is looking forward to contributing to the wave of change for children and youth in coastal communities around the world.

In the meantime Soul Surfers Foundation also made it to the nominees of the ASN Bank Voor de Wereld van Morgen competition with its project D-Surf it! to win 10.000 euro's for the start up of the first official fair-trade clothing line to be presented on its new webshop.
